Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
