The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Before LPGA First Appearance

Emerging athlete getting ready for major competition

The rising star has substantial social media following

The young golfer will have multiple prominent cheerleaders when she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.

Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns multiple courses worldwide and regularly matches against his granddaughter.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she mentioned.

Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply avoid anxiety."

"He basically advised me to compete and relax," she continued.

"From my perspective, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.

But she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.

"He is the best player in the world," Kai stated.

"And he's a more impressive person. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."

She'll challenge several the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, such as world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

Officials mentioned that involving Kai brings golf to different demographics, particularly reaching youth audiences.

The young star maintains substantial online presence and recently launched a personal apparel and wellness label.

She begins at late afternoon GMT.
