These charcoal drawings and paintings will then be worked on in the workspace, with participants producing several abstract landscapes in acrylic paint to be shown in the local community. Participants has exclusive access of the hotel, which is centered on an open courtyard and has a roof terrace with views over the hills. The cost includes five days of painting tuition; all meals; and an outing to the local castle and additional local sights.

Vegetarian Culinary in the Algarve

This sun-drenched cooking retreat, located at a villa by the river in the central Algarve, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of celebrated cooks. Guests will learn to produce selection of small dishes, attend a falafel-making workshop, refine brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains like spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. The schedule includes visits to the local market and a local vineyard to taste Portuguese wines, along with free time for walks by the Funcho River, to relax on the deck or swim in the infinity pool. The farmhouse, a renovated rural property, has multiple rooms, plus glamping tents in the gardens.

Street Dance in Buckinghamshire

This energetic camp is an uplifting, welcoming three-day adults’ street dance camp in High Wycombe. The format each day is a party-style group warmup, followed by several hour-and-a-half workshops covering different street dance styles, then an hour-long freestyle session to demonstrate new moves. Participants are divided into groups based on skill level, so it is suitable for those who are completely new to popping and locking, right up to experienced performers or instructors. This event doesn’t include accommodation but there are a number of hostels and hotels nearby, and it is under an hour by train into London.

Maritime Singing Break in St Ives

This coastal town is the perfect setting for a maritime music retreat. Participants will be taught historic sailing songs from a experienced musician, and try their hand at composing original ones. There will be vocal warmups, breath control techniques, stagecraft advice and a closing performance. The holiday is held in a country house with views of the bay. Full board are provided, such as a traditional tea on arrival, cooked or continental breakfasts, lunches to go and evening meals. Traditional rum, alas, is not provided. Creative Writing in Crete

Author and lecturer Greg Mosse conducts the regular sessions on this authors' getaway. He covers everything from story structure, characters, locations and suspense, to submitting work to agents. A co-host, the well-known writer Kate Mosse, will participate in events at the start and finish of the week. The retreat is held at a traditional complex in Vamos at the foot of the White mountains – ten private accommodations are set around a garden and pool (companions are welcome to come along). On the final evening, aspiring writers mark the occasion with a musical performance in the garden and a final meal.

Beginners' Beekeeping in Mid Wales

A leading eco-centre near Machynlleth runs a wide range of programs covering sustainability: from creating habitats to upcycling. This weekend introduction will help attendees learn the fundamentals of apiary management, explore the biology of honeybees and discover their environmental benefits. It is aimed at produce “bee-friendly beekeepers”. This course is also a opportunity to de-stress in the centre's sustainably managed forests, which are home to polecats, otters, dormice, lesser horseshoe bats and uncommon bird species. These recently launched weekend sailing courses are spent on Wayfarers and Dufours on the Blackwater estuary.
