Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.

The tennis star in action
Aryna Sabalenka finished the tour with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of High Performance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka concluded the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and picked up a historic £11m in earnings.

She garnered nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a new level".
