Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
